Introduction on Out Mold Decoration

Out Mold Decoration (OMD) is an extension and improvement technologies of IMD process. OMD enables decoration not only for plastic products but also for glasses, metals, ceramics and any other materials.

OMD technology combines vision, touch and functionality processes which also enables the metalized, three-dimensional covering.OMD technology also helps product designer to enrich the degree of freedom products, plentiful product appearance and quality.

Out mode decoration also defines as dry paint coating process which helps to resolve the environmental problem locally and also decrease the investing cost on equipment.

‧ OMF(Forming Film)
OMF film has formed so that trimming process is necessary

‧ OMR(Release Film)
In OMR, film is able to be released and no trimming process is required.

Out Mold Decoration Applications

OMD film can provide a variety of decorative appearance, hair, visual and tactile effect to achieve, metallic, matte,3D three-dimensional lines of pearl, leather touch, wood trim on a variety of effects devices via the OMD high pressure, vacuum forming coating of metal / Mg, Al, plastic, fiberglass or glass outer layer of body parts. Basically, OMF process required trimming is processes but OMF is capable to be used on products that required high extensibility (over 20mm). OMR-only need to remove the film without trimming. Products that do not require high extensibility (below 10mm) will be recommended.
